People who ride their brakes. Your cruising at 50, get your foot away from that damn pedal.

they always slow down way too fast as well, just compounding the fact that you can’t tell when they actually start braking.

I really can’t understand how people drive like this. The people that speed up and then brake and then speed up and then brake are bad enough. But the ones that just ride their brakes the whole time are downright fucking dangerous.

You know what grinds my gears more?

People who can’t seem to see more than 5 feet ahead of them. In city driving, when I see the red light up ahead, I let off the gas and start cruising, engine braking, and braking. But guess what? The driver behind me gets all flustered and changes lane and hard accelerates until they finally see the red light and looks like a total idiot. And it isn’t even the visibility issue, I have a small car, and they usually have those stupid tall crossovers. Apparently the ride height ain’t helping them see much.

I’m amazed at the number of people by me who drive with two feet. They have to because they accelerate yet their brake lights are still on...

Hmm...that is annoying, though I am more frustrated lately with folks not accelerating onto an interstate. They get into the Weave Lane and throw on their blinker, sometimes slowing down to wait on an opening and of course no one scoots over a lane to give us trapped behind this idiot a chance.

But I really dislike folks that get all up on my tail on a hill when I have a manual. I can easily handle the roll, though I will usually give them a brief scare as I let the car roll back just slightly.

I agree. But in this world, it is a given. I have learned to ignore it. Spell check is for “other people” as well.

...and for the sake of playing devil’s advocate, I’m going to try to see their side.

Guy in front slacking off+good view+window of opportunity=1 less car in front+trust noone on the road=win.

Frankly, while I might not be the exact person you describe, I do understand the “one car is the difference between red/green light” train of thought. If they do it safely... all the more power too them.

Driving with two feet is perfectly legitimate, and improves reaction times. The problem is drivers get old and don’t realize they’re dragging the brakes. Best practice is to use two feet, but don’t hover your left foot over the brake unless there is an immediate need or potential need to stop.
